Sara Rounce, Pilates Teacher - Background

I have been living in Aberdeen since 1999.  I am professionally qualified as a Pilates Teacher having completed the Basic Matwork  Fundamentals and Pilates for Pregnancy training courses through the Institute of Pilates in London. I have been teaching Pilates for over 6 years and during this time I spent 2 years teaching over 12 classes a week at Aberdeen Pilates Studio. These classes were at all levels from very beginner to advanced. Classes cover pilates for fitness and general wellbeing as well as specific back issues, injuries and postural problems, and pregnancy. My current classes are run at St Mary's Church in Carden Place. Please see classes page for timetable.

Pregnancy and Post-natal Experience
I also teach Pilates for Pregnancy and have built up considerable experience in both pre- and post-natal exercises and this is much becoming my specialist area.  I had my first baby in May 2006 (I am now pregnant with my second) so was very lucky to go through pregnancy at the same time as being able to teach the pregnancy class and the experience has really helped increase my knowledge of teaching Pilates and exercising in both pregnancy and post-natally. I am constantly increasing my knowledge in this area. Pilates also helped me recover and get back into shape from a caesarean in 2006. If you have any questions at all on this area please feel free to email me or follow this link for further information.

One-to-One Tuition
One-to-one teaching is becoming increasingly popular as exercises can be adapted to suit people's individual needs and the sessions enable you to have a more personal method of learning. I have experience of teaching people with back injuries, postural problems, sciatica, cystic fibrosis and MS. I use a studio in central Aberdeen for these lessons and can also visit you in your home.
